Established in 1976, the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland (ECCQ) is the peak organisation for multicultural communities in Queensland. ECCQ works to strengthen community capacity, advocate for multicultural communities, empower self-advocacy, and deliver culturally responsive health and aged care services. Its work is grounded in inclusion, equity, social justice, cultural responsiveness, dignity, safety, choice and community-led solutions.
ECCQ supports Queensland communities through advocacy, community development, health programs and aged care services. The organisation:

- Advocates on issues affecting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.
- Builds the capability of community organisations and leaders through training, mentoring and practical support.

- Partners with government, universities and community organisations to influence policy and strengthen service delivery.

About the Role
The General Manager Corporate Services is a newly elevated executive leadership role responsible for strengthening ECCQ’s corporate foundations and supporting the organisation through its next phase of growth and organisational development. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role provides strategic leadership across finance, people & culture, , corporate services, and technology. The role is accountable for building a contemporary Corporate Services function that delivers strong financial stewardship, workforce capability and operational support across the organisation.
A key member of the executive team, the General Manager Corporate Services will partner closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and operational leaders to support organisational performance and informed decision-making. The role will ensure ECCQ remains financially sustainable, operationally resilient and future-ready while continuing to strengthen organisational effectiveness.
The portfolio includes leadership of finance, people & culture and ICT, with accountability for strengthening organisational capability and supporting the successful delivery of ECCQ’s strategic priorities. The role also oversees treasury management, investment performance, property and asset management, and maintains strategic relationships with external advisers, technology partners and service providers.
A major focus of the role will be partnering with Business Operations and leaders across the organisation to support the implementation of key organisational and digital improvement initiatives, including ECCQ’s Technology Systems Review and Digital Roadmap. This includes strengthening business systems, improving reporting capability, enhancing internal service delivery and contributing to sustainable organisational change. The General Manager Corporate Services will also play a critical role in developing workforce capability, succession planning and leadership development initiatives that support long-term organisational success.

Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal General Manager Corporate Services is a seasoned CPA and executive leader with significant experience leading corporate services, finance or business support functions within a complex, regulated environment. A background in aged care will be highly regarded, particularly experience strengthening corporate capability and enhancing internal service delivery.
They are a strategic, commercially minded and financially astute leader who can balance long-term thinking with practical implementation. Partnering with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team bring sound judgement, accountability and the ability to translate strategy into sustainable outcomes that strengthen the effectiveness of Corporate Services.
Their leadership style is collaborative, authentic and empowering. They build trust quickly, develop high-performing teams, foster accountability and create environments where people feel supported to grow and succeed. They are confident strengthening organisational capability, improving corporate services, enhancing internal systems and processes, and supporting organisation-wide improvement initiatives while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
