These services are offered in the family preservation, Out of Home Care, disability and justice fields within the community services sector focused on protecting and empowering those with the most complex needs.

The Role
The People & Culture Manager contributes to the strategic and operational success of Strive Community Care through the management and delivery of organisational functions related to human resources, organisational culture and safety. This position is responsible for providing Human Resources (HR) and safety advisory services across the organisation.
This role will partner with the Senior Leadership team on all matters relating to the HR, culture and safety functions and will work with these leaders to develop strategies that maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the organisation’s workforce.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will oversee all aspects of People & Culture to ensure efficient workforce management and lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, performance, and organisational culture. As part of a team dedicated to excellence, innovation, and social responsibility, your duties will include strategic leadership, talent management, championing a positive and inclusive work environment, making data-driven decisions, ensuring compliance with industry trends and legislation, and promoting safety and wellbeing.
Your role will involve developing and implementing People & Culture strategies that drive organisational growth and sustainability, positioning Strive Community Care as an employer of choice. You will lead recruitment efforts to attract top-tier talent, oversee the seamless onboarding process, and manage performance evaluations to maximise employee potential. Additionally, you will cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment by championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, fostering a sense of belonging among all team members.
Utilising people and culture metrics, you will evaluate the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, making data-driven decisions that continuously enhance their people and culture practices. Staying informed about industry trends, you will ensure staffing-related compliance with legislation in a care setting and best practices to encourage safety and mitigate risks effectively. Furthermore, you will drive WHS requirements and promote the organisation’s wellbeing focus, including safety planning, EAP services, monthly supervision, appropriate rostering, and post-incident support.

Role Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of Company Values and establishment of appropriate behaviours.
- Drive the development, management and review of HR policies, processes and procedures.
- Provide expert workplace relations advice, guidance and end-to-end hands-on case management on all people-related matters.
- Manage the full recruitment life cycle from drafting advertisements to probations.
- Manage and drive the staff ‘onboarding’ induction process in liaison with other staff, as required.
- Drive the identification and implementation of HR strategies, including employee wellbeing.
- Support staff in achieving best professional practice in pastoral care, mediation, disciplinary action, and informal and formal grievances.
- Timely and accurate contract management and execution for all staff.
- Development and management of position descriptions and the performance review process.
- Oversight of day-to-day HR issues, including staff queries, remuneration changes and FTE calculations.
- Support line managers to prepare and manage performance management processes and documentation.
- Oversight of the staff exit process.
- Manage leave processes and large accrued balances to ensure they are appropriately controlled.
- Oversee all Workers’ Compensation matters, including RTW coordination, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Provide staffing forecasts and statistics.
- Manage the preparation of the annual HR Budget and the actual spending against the budget.
- Attend weekly senior management and management meetings and provide information on all People & Culture matters, including recruitment, staff management, leave matters and workers compensation.
- Chair the Consultative Committee(s) to resolve interpretation and related matters.
- Prepare accurate and timely returns to all relevant Government and regulatory authorities.
- Other duties as directed by the Managing Director

Key Focus
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources (or equivalent)
- At least five years of relevant experience delivering human resources solutions
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidentially and sensitivity with a well-developed EQ
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, and the ability to drive process improvements and to think laterally.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage varied deadlines and competing demands.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with staff at all levels of an organisation to achieve and deliver results.
- A positive, respectful and solution focused attitude especially when managing competing priorities.
- A working knowledge of the SCHADS Award
- NDIS Working Screening Clearance, Blue Card and Criminal History check required.
