Come for the career; stay for the lifestyle…
It’s an ongoing source of frustration that Human Resources is arguably the most difficult profession in which to reach the top. Thanks to its extraordinary engagement factor, experts tend to enjoy extreme longevity in top roles. But … here, in one iconic outback community, internal rearranging with a respected Regional Qld Council has created a rare, fast track career opportunity for an experienced, HRM qualified Manager with a relevant degree in HR, Psychology and/or Business.
In a quiet stretch of inland Queensland, where the horizon stretches wide and the pace of life slows to a thoughtful rhythm, is a regional town, where history lingers in the architecture and the stories are passed down through generations. The community is close-knit, with a strong sense of pride in its heritage and a welcoming spirit. Art, culture, modern services and the outback landscape converge here, in a green oasis to offer a unique blend of reflection and resilience.
It’s beautiful and a perfect place to live for anyone wanting to be part of a traditional country town community. And rest assured, you’ll be ably assisted- financially and practically – in securing comfortable accommodation!
Leading the organisation’s people strategy, this HR role is deep, wide and multifaceted …
It’s a pivotal position that will have strong appeal to a future-focused, ambitious leader who champions culture, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion. It’s envisaged you will be an adaptable professional with wide interests – including people – great rapport at all levels, exceptional communications skills and an ethical, outgoing personality that makes you easily to like.
Because you’ll be reporting directly to the Executive as you play your critical role in shaping the future workforce, you’ll also need expertise in balancing strategic leadership with operational oversight.
Embedding cultural initiatives and driving organisational performance, you’ll impact across all aspects of People & Culture. This includes mitigating and/or resolving complex workforce issues, code of conduct matters and 360-degree investigations. But that’s just one aspect of the job: the Description available from Windsor details the rest of this uniquely exciting role.
If a wonderfully radical change in outlook appeals and you’d love to be considered for this position, here are the basics of what you need to bring…
- Senior HR leadership experience, perhaps within State or local government.
- Strong knowledge of QIRC, enterprise bargaining, and state-based employment laws (QLD)
- Understanding of modern awards, EA and unions and strength in employee and IR relations
- Experience in mentoring, coaching and navigating periods of growth and/or change.
