A career-defining role made special by its people and purpose …

Identified many times as ‘Australia’s Most Trusted Charity’, this organisation has a well-earned reputation for its work helping people with low vision or blindness to live their best lives. This interdisciplinary leadership role sits right at its heart – making sure that its high-quality, person-centred services enable great outcomes for people wherever they live.

Support independence through life-changing services

The Vision Services unit provides a range of allied health and education services to support people with vision loss. It’s a critical component of the organisation’s social impact and has potential to innovate and grow. Under the leadership of a visionary and inclusive leader, the team will have great opportunities to collaborate with other agencies, expand its services and help more people.

This is a very exciting opportunity for a clinically qualified professional with several years of successfully building and leading a multi-disciplinary team to develop effective relationships and guide the unit’s evolution to meet the needs of the community.

Building on your reputation as credible and trusted, you’ll nurture collaboration across disciplines and build the type of high performing, proudly cohesive team who can’t wait to get to work each day. Your leadership can inspire lasting social impact, one person at a time, one day at a time, and your desire to find ways to help more people will be met by a team with the talent to make it happen.

To be considered for this challenging, career changing leadership role, you will need to bring a record of sound management capabilities and excellent leadership in an allied health role (or similar context).

An empathetic, active listener, you’re proud of your ability to strike a ready rapport with people from all walks of life. You genuinely enjoy getting to know the people in your teams and support them in their ambitions. Practical and hands-on, you solve problems collaboratively and systematically, understand the dynamics of the health market and are capable at coordinating and guiding continuous improvement and reporting.

As the new Manager of the Vision Services Unit you will be valued, supported and appreciated. You can look forward to making a lasting difference by nurturing a wonderful team culture, improving client outcomes and expanding the reach of these life-changing services to people across Queensland.
