Clinical Nurse Leader – Community Care

Location: Brisbane, QLD
Role: Permanent

Clinically credible leader driving excellence in practice, culture and capability across a diverse community nursing workforce

  • Formal nursing qualifications + registration are required
  • Senior clinical leadership role within a values‑driven community services provider
  • Full time position based in Brisbane North with outreach to Gold Coast
  • Nursing Award (Level 4) + fully maintained vehicle (personal use + home garaging)

Be part of a longestablished, valuesdriven community services organisation with clients at its heart

For decades, this highly regarded nonprofit organisation has worked side by side with families and communities across South East Queensland, delivering in‑home and community‑based services that genuinely respect cultural identity, language and lived experience. There is a deep sense of continuity, warmth and pride in the work here, a place where people feel welcomed, where teams rally together, and care is 100% client centred.

An opportunity now exists for an accomplished Clinical Nurse Leader. This pivotal role stretches across leadership, clinical governance and day‑to‑day service delivery, all of which hinges on the care provided by a passionate team of Registered and Enrolled Nurses based in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

You will hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.  You will lead with credibility and purpose. You are clinically confident, emotionally intelligent and very comfortable navigating complex situations. You are solutions focused and will be deeply involved with coaching and guiding the nursing team, sensing when to step in, and knowing when to give space while maintaining strong professional boundaries.

Working closely with the CEO, the Operations Manager plus the nursing team and support coordinators, you will play a key role in rostering, reviewing incidents, responding to client, family and carer feedback and coordinating inter‑program referrals. A typical day will require high energy and a willingness to jump in and do what is necessary to deliver the best care possible. You are ever helpful and hopeful, acting as a professional role model with a clear focus on quality and safety.

You will invest time building trust, understanding nurse runs, client complexity and service realities, acknowledging the commitment of a team that has remained resilient during times of change.  Your passion, knowledge and skills will shape new policies and procedures, bolster clinical governance and inform practice evolution in harmony with changing client needs and the new aged care standards.

Cultural awareness is central to this organisation’s philosophy. The clients and workforce represent a wide range of backgrounds, languages and histories, and success in this role relies on curiosity, respect and an ability to work impartially across difference. The capacity to speak another language is welcomed, though genuine cultural humility is essential.

While the position has set daily hours, services operate seven days a week, and you will be available for ad hoc clinical advice when required. Working from home is not available.

It’s a big job…and a remarkable career opportunity.

This role is made for a clinical nurse leader who values collaboration and shared accountability and wants to help a good organisation become even better.
