Revitalise a business and its culture, turning unexpected change and disruption into a catalyst for growth and innovation.
This is very much a turnaround with a twist. With a history spanning 20+ years of trusted expertise, the achievements of this wonderful organisation are clearly on record. It has done extraordinary work with small children. With compassion and science-based early interventions, it has changed lives and brought fresh prospects to tens of thousands of Queensland families.
Like many not-for-profits, this once-flourishing business encountered a turning point when legislative changes and shifts in NDIS funding models reshaped its path, opening the door to reimagine and strengthen its impact, and emerge with renewed vision and resilience. But – led by its courageous Board, Executive and a superb CEO (now retiring) – it has survived the storm, steadied its financials, worked up a new business model and laid the groundwork for a positive survivalist culture.
With a good plan, great people, it needs the full-on energies of a very special new leader.
A seasoned, well-connected CEO, with a strong reputation as a business leader and influencer – in both commercial and nonprofit circles – who knows finance, fundraising, strategy, risk and change management. A true professional with the grace and gravitas to get out centre front and ‘ask for the order’ because ‘it’s all about the kids’.
Now deficient of much of the previous NDIS support, future proofing this organisation with innovative, fundraising strategies and stakeholder support has become a priority. And this will need you to be ready, willing and able to talk, connect, lobby and solicit backing from business connections, commercial partners, stakeholders and at all levels of government. In short, you’re expected to be visible, voluble, tactical and very well regarded.
Beyond that, you will know from your own experience the scope and capabilities that will be required of you as a strategic and transformative CEO. The extra challenge here is that to steer this nonprofit to safer waters, you will face the choice of going with recently laid plans or – with Board approval – setting a new direction built around your own expert measure of the status quo.
There’s so much more to this opportunity than meets the eye. The role is rich with both challenge and reward, and we encourage you to outline how you can help lead the transformation of a truly special charity that’s all about the kids. If this speaks to your passion and purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
