Build more than homes – create spaces where people feel connected, valued and empowered and start something that matters.

Every community begins with connection – and that’s where you come in! This role is about creating spaces where people feel they belong, where housing becomes more than shelter and where voices are heard and celebrated. You’ll lead initiatives that bring tenants together, foster inclusion and turn ideas into experiences that make life richer and more connected.

The visionary leadership team has realigned strategy and reshaped the organisation to maximise impact and outcomes. This transformation unlocks the capability to deliver on an ambitious 2024–2029 Strategic Plan, built on four pillars: Homes, Community, Capability and Sustainability. With strengthened foundations and enhanced service delivery, the organisation is positioned for long-term growth and to create meaningful, lasting change for tenants and the wider community.

From organising morning teas and creative workshops to developing engagement strategies and crafting newsletters, you’ll be the spark that transforms isolation into community through tenant led initiatives. Your work will also involve guiding tenants through transitions, such as relocations linked to redevelopment projects, with empathy and clarity. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, maintain accurate records and report on the impact of your efforts – because every success story matters!

To thrive in this role, you’ll need creativity, resilience and a genuine love for people. You’ll be organised and resourceful, able to manage multiple priorities while keeping the human element front and centre. Strong communication skills are essential, as is the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with care. Experience in community engagement or grassroots initiatives will serve you well, along with confidence using digital tools.

This is a part-time opportunity (around 25 hours per week) with flexibility to fit your life. You’ll work in a vibrant city location, with access to tools of the trade and the satisfaction of knowing your efforts create real change. If you’re ready to build more than homes – if you want to create belonging – this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact!
