Location: Brisbane, QLD
Role: Permanent

Be the steady hand and compassionate heart that helps people turn housing into home – creating security, dignity and hope for those who need it most.

  • Brisbane City location with easy access to public transport
  • Flexible part-time hours, approximately 25 hours per week, tailored to fit your lifestyle
  • Make a real impact – help individuals and families sustain tenancies and build thriving communities
  • Attractive salary + super + salary packaging

Build more than housing – help shape connected, thriving communities where everyone belongs.

Imagine a role where every action you take helps someone feel safe, secure and supported. A home is more than bricks and mortar – it’s the anchor for stability, dignity, and hope. As a Community Housing Officer, you’ll be at the heart of this mission, ensuring tenancies are sustained and lives are positively impacted.

Guided by a visionary leadership team, the organisation truly puts people at the heart of everything they do. They have reshaped to create the capacity to deliver on an ambitious 2024–2029 Strategic Plan built around Homes, Community, Capability and Sustainability. With stronger foundations and a renewed commitment to service excellence, they’re shaping a future where tenants thrive and communities flourish!

This position is dynamic and people-focused. Your day will never look the same: one moment you’re conducting an entry inspection for a new tenant, the next you’re reviewing rent eligibility or responding to a call from someone in need. You’ll manage tenancy data with precision, because accurate information drives better outcomes and future funding. You’ll navigate complex tenancy situations with empathy and professionalism, always guided by clear frameworks and a commitment to fairness.

Success in this role requires more than technical know-how. It calls for resilience, patience, and a genuine desire to help. You’ll need to be adaptable – ready to roll up your sleeves, answer phones, visit properties and even pitch in when something needs tidying up. Initiative is key: when problems arise, you’ll think critically, propose solutions and act confidently within policy and legislation.

The environment is fast-paced and rewarding. You’ll work alongside a team that values open communication, kindness and humour – even on tough days. Flexibility is part of the package, with hours designed to fit life outside of work. You’ll have access to tools of the trade, a company vehicle for site visits and the satisfaction of knowing your efforts make a tangible difference.

If you have experience in tenancy or property management, understand the Residential Tenancies Act and can balance compassion with consistency, this role offers a chance to do meaningful work every single day. Experience in the community housing sector is desirable. It’s an opportunity to contribute to something bigger: creating homes, building communities and changing lives.
