ROSTERING TEAM LEADERS – Brisbane

Do your part to advance community support by building reliable, open & helpful relationships with Managers of all the community services you help to staff.

  • There are two positions, each responsible for different areas of service.
  • Significant leadership, mentoring and coaching experience required.
  • Based Brisbane CBD rim.

Established for more than 50 years, and with an excellent reputation, this community-based support organisation is committed to leading social change, strengthening families and supporting people who are aged, infirm, have illness or live with disabilities.

As NDIS and CDC have taken hold, its services have expanded exponentially. And of course, with that, comes a need for more, well trained, responsive rostering schedulers to ensure that each and every client and customer can rely on the support they need – when and where it’s required.

And, rosterers in turn are dependent on someone like you – an accomplished and experienced Team Leader who will make sure they thoroughly understand the job, the process and their role in it. And right now, the need is for two seasoned professionals who can lead, coach, encourage and help all members in their teams (generally of six people) to stay consistently on task and on track.

To help promote the high standards set by this organisation, you’ll need experience, excellent inter-personal and communication skills and – most importantly – the strength of character and personal attributes that will keep your team loyal and happy, productive and functioning smoothly – even when the going gets a bit tough.

That means understanding the individuals in your teams, having the confidence to shower praise when it’s due, keep a watchful eye for areas that could use improvement and – yes – have an admonitory word or two when that’s the order of the day.

No one says that rostering is an easy job. But for anyone with the skills, the resilience, the determination to make a difference and a positive, adaptable outlook, it can be extremely satisfying to mastermind that jigsaw that puts everyone into the right place at just the right time.

Of course, that’s not always possible. So, perhaps the most important part of this role is forever going to be your ability to build relationships. To offer care and consideration; negotiate, placate and influence interactions with your team members so they become motivated to do whatever they can to help you run a smooth operation.

And, just as importantly, you need to be able to build a special rapport with the managers and care providers who rely on you to provide the staffing support that keeps their customers well cared for. With their interests in mind and the welfare of their clients right at the heart of everything you do, you repay their trust by offering solutions that are firm, fair and help keep “all systems go.”
