Long established and well reputed, this organisation is committed to leading social change, strengthening families and supporting people in their communities. But, right now, it is also charged with managing internal change and driving growth within a shifting non-profit environment.
NDIS and CDC are sweeping away conventional practices and bringing new, quite diverse ways of doing things. Different systems, additional reporting and altered legislation brings their own difficulties compounded by the need to grow and expand operations.
So, the person we’re looking for will need to be a particularly optimistic, agile and tenacious leader of change.
Business minded, with appropriate qualifications and experience in community services – ideally including aged care – you have a proven flair for building trust, forging strong relationships and promoting growth.
This a complex role that’s at once strategic, autonomous and collaborative, with enormous scope. It will especially appeal to an individual who likes to be out and about, talking to people, discovering what they need and coming up with innovative and practical ways to meet those needs.
Strong experience, outstanding communications abilities and your proven capacity to operate responsively in a business environment comparable to today’s ambiguous, mutable community services setting will be critical to your success.
But, over and above that, it will be your ability to be proactive in building alliances consistent with strategic directions that will really count. Tactically building the organizational brand and driving cultural change, you will lead and promote the expansion (and public acceptance) of its traditional services to include a far wider span of aged care services.
Since this community organization is known primarily in this district for its work with disability, it will take time, tact, leadership skills, steady hands and determination to strike up and secure the business imperatives – and relationships – essential to accomplishing this transformation.
Meanwhile, life goes on. So, you will also be managing existing business across your area, ensuring that all levels of service excellence continue uninterrupted and that teams feel valued, supported and enthusiastic in their work.
To be in contention for this exceptional role, it is preferred that you have tertiary qualifications in Social Services, Human Services, Management or similar along with proven business acumen, financial intelligence and experience in maintaining the smooth operation of a large business under conditions of change.
Success managing a multi-site service delivery area, particularly in the aged care sector, computer proficiency and team building skills in a customer service business will all enhance your application.
