This Foundation supports Queensland’s largest hospitals. With the support of many loyal and committed donors, it principally raises the funds to finance revolutionary medical research but also to fund equipment, technology and training to enhance patient care.
While the long-term aim is to increase the scope and intensity of the research for which this hospital is famous and to increase its global profile, the more immediate goal is to connect individually with each of the major benefactors whose generosity and loyalty helps to make all of this possible.
Recent changes in the Foundation’s positioning, structure and strategies has revealed that – while these philanthropic donors have been customarily thanked – more can be done to ensure that these generous individuals always know just how deeply they and their good works are appreciated and their impact is demonstrated.
Your job will be to remedy that. And since this is a long-established Foundation with many supportive and big-hearted friends, there is much to be done. But you won’t be alone.
With genuine investment from your CEO, support from expert peers and the backing of a team of enthusiastic, multi-skilled fundraising professionals, you will be given every opportunity to take your development and leadership skills to the highest levels.
Backed by the resources you need to build, mentor and meld a specialized, high-performing group, you will lead your team to achieve ambitious revenue and renewal goals year on year, while you continue to deliver excellent stewardship experiences along the supporter journey.
To shine in this exciting, high profile role you will need to bring relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Communications and/or Marketing along with a significant record of success in donor-centred philanthropy, relationship management, supporter growth, lead generation and retention development strategies. CFRE accreditation will also be highly regarded.
Crucial to your candidacy will be your strong understanding of donor fundraising best practices and legislation and a proven ability for handling multiple, complex fundraising initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced, often pressured environment. Able to drive innovation, change and growth, you are a detail-oriented implementer who can inspire teams to translate strategy into results.
Comfortable with technology and information systems, you have a working knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, are proficient across advanced MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Knowledge and bring experience around KPIs, financial reports, budgets, productivity and data insights.
With consummate presentation skills and superb interpersonal, communication and relationship capabilities, you are a recognised and consistent High Achiever who is passionate about the value of medical research.
And it’s these characteristics – backed by your own ethics and experience – that will enable you to continually move forward to fearlessly realise the goals of this essential Hospital Foundation.
