BUSINESS MANAGER – Logan, Gold Coast, Beaudesert NFP

- Proven agility in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment is essential to this role
- Leadership role in a new structure.
- Attractive package. Ashmore based.
Go with the flow….
This future-ready, powerfully resourced ‘one-stop’ care organisation operates in various locations across SE Queensland to bring disability support, aged care, community services, mental health, housing and homeless services.
Large and long established, with a reputation for providing services in a caring, client-centred way that aligns with its church-based beliefs, this organisation operates across a number of hubs (areas). Each of these is currently in the process of transforming from a government-funded model to an extremely competitive consumer-driven model.
As NDIS and other legislative initiations have been introduced to meet the future requirements of community health care, it has responded nimbly with flair and foresight. But, this industry-wide upheaval is far from over. And since so many exterior forces are still moving and shifting, that also means internal change is also continuing. It all impacts considerably on this role.
So, this is not a position for someone who likes each day to roll out, all neat, tidy and organised, as planned.
Rather, it’s an exciting and exhilarating role for a manager who thrives on change and challenge. A leader, with an agile, problem-solving brain who stays calm and collected while busily analysing each situation and sorting through all the answers to find the best possible solution.
By explicitly tailoring fast and innovative responses to both expected and unexpected social needs, you – and the area you manage – are able to maintain quite a high degree of agility and autonomy, while still complying with the organisational mission and vision.
In this case, responsibility extends across an area from Logan through the Gold Coast and west to the Scenic Rim. A lot of the groundwork is done; a working strategy is in place; teams are gaining strength – but there is still plenty of work to do!
Bringing appropriate qualifications, significant experience in managing change, high level business acumen and analytical skills, it’s expected you will explore those strategies (as they stand) examine what’s being done and make your own expert recommendations. However, you will need the emotional maturity to realise that change from unexpected quarters may affect those – and indeed everything you do.
With expertise in audit and compliance – and an excellent knowledge of NDIS – you’ll immediately become an integral part of the Area Executive, providing management and leadership in a complex environment where transformation is the only constant. Well-networked and proactive in building rewarding alliances, it’s hoped you’ll have built advanced expertise in a comparable position that ideally has involved a multi-site, multi-faceted business. Any prior work in managing change associated with funding, NDIS and/or commercialisation will be a bonus.
Your understanding of financial indicators and an outstanding ability to analyse financial information and funding requirements are crucial cornerstones to this responsible role. Also needed is a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of policies, procedures, current Acts, quality assurance regimes and other relevant legislation and practices that govern your work.
Unflappability, grace under ‘fire’, clear communication and the power to negotiate favourably are all wanted skills; along with strong decision making; confident problem solving, resilience and a positive attitude to dealing with whatever comes your way.
Integrity, tact, enthusiasm and a willingness to work well within the Catholic ethos will add lustre to your application.
