Stable and positive, with a multi-skilled and passionate Board, dynamic CEO and the contribution of one of Australia’s most effective social justice leaders, this national organisation works tirelessly to reduce gambling harm that is devastating the nation.
Not connected to any political interests, it is a registered health promotion charity funded by donations, grants, individuals and foundations that are known not to have political affiliations or ties to the gambling industry.
With the present Chair nearing the end of a second term, this leadership position is now open to a seasoned professional who is passionate about reducing the harm to individuals, families and communities caused by the gambling industry in Australia.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and proven Boardroom facilitator with extensive experience, who thoroughly understands business and nonprofit governance. To succeed, you will need the skills and attributes to:
- calmly lead and inspire a committed board,
- build strong synergy and agreement,
- maintain stability through a practical approach and sound decision making,
- draw on previous experience to help identify new opportunities
- continue to action the Strategic Plan and monitor all governance issues

The ability to connect and find collaboration with likeminded advocacy interests on escalating gambling-linked issues and protect Australian families and particularly our children from gambling harm.
Australians lose more to gambling per capita than any other nation on earth. This is causing devastating social harm across Australian communities. We have some of the weakest laws to protect people against gambling harm and the gambling industry does all it can to fight change. So, the Board is seeking a committed and courageous Chair, who is comfortable and motivated to work ‘behind scenes.’ To take things forward strategically while nurturing a secure environment where each Board member is encouraged to give of their best.
