Windsor Group is a profit-for-purpose providing expert advice, HR services, executive search and recruitment services for executive, permanent and temporary/contract roles across nonprofit, commercial and government sectors. 

  • Overview of Accoras

    Accoras have been helping people across Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales for over 30 years by providing evidence based early intervention mental health support.  Operating as a for-purpose organisation and registered charity their vision is ‘good mental health for all’. 

    Skilled staff offer a range of supports to help address and prevent mental health concerns, and deal with common challenges people face at any stage of their life. Key service streams include:   

    • Child, Youth and Family Support Services  
    • Employment Support Services  
    • Psychology Services  
    • Community Education Services 

    The Child, Youth and Family support team deliver several government-funded services across Southeast Queensland aimed at helping children, young people and families. These free services include outreach support for children and young people under 18 who might be showing early signs or symptoms of a mental health concern. 

    Accoras is also the Lead Agency for headspace Inala, providing access to free holistic early intervention support for young people aged 12-25 experiencing mental health concerns.  

    Through their Settlement, Engagement & Transition Support, Accoras also provides free support for culturally and linguistically diverse families with a child who may be vulnerable or whose safety is at risk. 

    Work, study and employment are common stressors and barriers many people face. Accoras are proud to work with parents in the “ParentsNext” program and young people in their headspace Inala centre, assisting them to achieve their employment goals. 

    Accoras Psychology Services is one of Brisbane’s largest and most dynamic practices.  With a team of over 20 practitioners, they have accredited Psychologists and Social Workers available under one-roof to assist with a range of concerns and services including:  

    • ADHD Assessments 
    • Private appointments 
    • Medicare, NDIS and WorkCover 
    • Couples Counselling  
    • Telehealth  
    • Play Therapy for Young Children

  • The Role

    The Chief Financial Officer will provide leadership to the corporate services team whilst ensuring all financial aspects of the organisation meet industry best practice standards. CPA or CA qualified you have a minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior leadership position. 

    Well versed in navigating the government funding environment you have developed and grown multiple funding streams within a previous role. 

    A multi-faceted role you will have oversight of Compliance, Risk, IT, Financial Modelling and Forecasting. You will also undertake Company Secretary activities with direct reporting lines to the CEO & Board. 

    An immersive position – you are happy to roll your sleeves up and work hard to understand the mechanics of the organisation. Through this immersion you will be able to contribute to the strategic direction and planned execution of agreed priorities for the organisation from an informed position. 

    As a 2IC you will, on occasion, need to step into the CEO role, offering the opportunity to gain experience in this senior leadership role.  

    Firm but fair, you are professionally mature and competent in having robust and respectful conversations, embracing decisions that are made in the best interest of the organisation.

    Coupled with the strong financial credentials you bring to the role you will also have demonstrated project management experience having identified, developed, and implemented projects in past roles.  

    You are well researched and bring a curious mindset to identify opportunities that add value to the organisation. As an evidenced based decision maker your detailed analysis of opportunities equips you well to present at Board level, valuing the level of accountability invested in you. 

  • What we are looking for

    Professional attributes required: 

    • Formal professional qualifications such as CA/CPA, supported by tertiary management degree will be highly regarded. 
    • Demonstrated ability to professionally lead and manage the commercial and business management process, preferably in the not-for-profit sector, in accordance with organisation priorities, objectives and strategic directions. 
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of Accoras Strategy, as part of the executive team. 
    • Develop and strengthen organisation-wide leadership, performance, financial and governance arrangements by building capability and streamlining Accoras systems, with a strong client focus.  
    • Implement and oversee strong risk management processes and insurance to mitigate, identify and control risks that fall within the corporate services and finance remit. 
    • Manage assets, liabilities, and resources to support planned growth, including people and infrastructure. 
    • Provide forecasts and make strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.  
    • Lead a team to provide timely and appropriate financial reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors. 
    • Ensure the long-term financial stability of Accoras through prudent financial management. 
    • Provide financial oversight and guidance to Accoras tenders, proposals, and responses to government/regulators within the Board’s business parameters. 
    • Ensure that all financial related activities and records of the Company are maintained up to date and are in accordance with statutory reporting requirements, Company policy and relevant legislation. 
    • Experience with data governance, knowledge management and information management. 
    • Proven ability to develop and implement systems, processes and reporting that facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. 
    • People leadership experience and the ability to coach and develop direct reports. 
    • Experience in undertaking a range of audits, both financial and programmatic. 
    • Experience in a Company Secretary role or ability to undertake and apply relevant training.  
    • Professional attitude with high work ethic. 
    • Exceptional leadership, verbal and written communication skills. 
    • Ability to identify and promote efficient business practices.  
    • Excellent attention to detail in preparing material and managing sensitive information.  
    • Ability to interact and work cooperatively with Management and others in a team environment.
